Daredevil: Born Again Prepares for March Debut, Season 2 Already in the Works

After overcoming numerous setbacks and production delays, “Daredevil: Born Again” is finally poised to make its debut on Disney+ this March. Marvel Television seems eager to keep the momentum going, as plans for season 2 are already underway.

Rumors about the second season’s production kicking off in late February were recently confirmed by Charlie Cox during a Fan Expo appearance. The star revealed that filming would begin before the premiere of season 1, signaling Marvel’s commitment to the revival series.

When asked about his future as Matt Murdock, Cox expressed his enthusiasm for continuing in the role. Reflecting on the character’s potential longevity, he noted, “They’re getting ready to release a comic where Matt Murdock is in his 60s, so I was like, ‘Oh, okay, great, so we got some time.'”

Although there’s been speculation about a third season, the studio is reportedly waiting to gauge audience reception to the initial episodes before moving forward. In a conversation with Empire, Cox shed light on his return to the character, which he previously portrayed across three seasons on Netflix’s “Daredevil.”

“There was talk early on about reinventing the whole thing, to see if Matt was a slightly different person,” Cox explained. “But it ended up more of a continuation. A lot of the history follows on. The relationships and dynamics set up in the previous seasons still exist.” He added that a few years have passed in the storyline, during which Matt, Foggy, and Karen have established a balanced dynamic. However, as expected, chaos soon disrupts their lives.

In “Daredevil: Born Again,” Matt Murdock (Cox), a blind lawyer with extraordinary abilities, continues his pursuit of justice through his law firm while grappling with his role as a vigilante. Meanwhile, Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), now a former mob boss, ventures into politics, setting the stage for an inevitable clash as their paths cross once more.

The series boasts a talented cast, including Margarita Levieva, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Zabryna Guevara, Nikki James, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Clark Johnson, Michael Gandolfini, Ayelet Zurer, and Jon Bernthal. Dario Scardapane serves as the showrunner, with episodes directed by Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, Michael Cuesta, Jeffrey Nachmanoff, and David Boyd. Executive producers include Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Sana Amanat, Chris Gary, Dario Scardapane, Christopher Ord & Matthew Corman, and Benson & Moorhead.
